About Hollywood Racks Hollywood Racks started in 1973 when they began making trunk racks in the back of our bike shop in Hollywood, CA. As a retailer, the company knew exactly what people needed: good quality products that were easy to use. They earned a great reputation fast and began selling racks to other dealers, and later to the bike companies. Today, Hollywood Racks builds racks the only way they know how: simple, strong, and secure. Hollywood Racks are built with top-quality materials including high-strength steel, aircraft-quality fasteners, and thick powder coats to withstand the elements. Generous amounts of padding protect bikes and cars, and all of their products are fully covered with a limited warranty. The company's products continue to receive accolades from all the major outdoor sports magazines, and are in demand by everyone from recreational cycling families to weekend warriors to race teams on the road and off.

With its six straps the rack does not move. Although rated for three bikes, it is very tight. Lost some paint due to rubbing, so I am planning to pick up some pipe insulation for padding. The rubber straps did not come in the box but the helpful tech support sent a set right away. A roof or hitch rack would be better, but much more expensive. I felt safe with my new bikes on this.

Not good for an Acura RSX
»
Points for being sturdy and ridiculously easy to install right out of the box, but make sure you have a car on which it will fit. I didn't think to check the fit guide before purchasing because I had read that it worked just fine with hatchbacks, but it does not safely fit my Acura RSX. Definitely check the manufacturer's web site to see if this will fit your car.

This rack served its purpose well.

This rack successfully made it 1,4000 miles over three days with one road bike on a 1997 Toyota Camry. It was stable and secure the whole way. I don't know if I would recommend it for heavy regular use, but for $50, it was a decent deal.

great bike rack

I really like this rack. It is easy to get bikes onto and holds them well. If you alternate the way they face there is no problem getting 3 on. We usually use it for only 2 on the back of my Hyundai Elantra. The car feels like there is nothing on it and the bikes do not really obstruct the view.
