A high-capacity environmentally-friendly mower that can actually pay for itself in fuel savings! No gas, oil, tune-ups - and NO annoying loud-mower noise. In our tests, we were very impressed with the cutting power; thick grass 4-5" tall didn't bog it down substantially - even in mulching mode. Patented rechargeable battery technology extends no-load run-time to over 4 hours - 2-3 times that of other cordless mowers - practical for use on lawns up to 1/2 acre/22,000 sq ft. Battery service-life is affected by factors such as number of charge/discharge cycles, charging procedure, proper maintenance and others; typical battery service-life of 3-5 years (battery is owner-replaceable and currently retails for $90.00; follow Operating Manual instructions to achieve maximum battery life). Removable safety key disables mower against accidental/unintentional operation. Smooth-rolling 7" front and 9" rear rubber - not plastic - wheels; mower weighs less-than 100 lbs for easy maneuverability. One-touch 7-position height adjustment, folding handle for compact storage. Includes UL-listed 110-volt AC charger (10-12 hours for full charge.) Ships UPS/FedEx partially assembled (just attach handle.) Manufacturer's 3-year parts and labor warranty.

Major Disapointment
»
I cannot comment on the quality of this lawnmower. The charging unit never indicated a full charge by turning green. I was told that it would not turn green the first few charges until the battery learns to recognized a full charge. The bottom line is the lawnmower never started at all so I am unable to judge the cutting ability or quality of the mower. Even more amazing - the instruction manual gives incorrect directions for starting the lawnmower and I was told by a spokesperson from Jack's Tool Shed that the instructions were out of date and that if I attempted to start the mower according to the instruction manual that it would damage the electronics of the lawnmower. There was supposed to be an insert with the correct starting instructions but it was missing from the unit that was shipped to me. This is completely unacceptable. I would have given this lawnmower no stars if it was possible.
I am glad that I bought this lawnmower from Amazon because it is a heavy lawnmower and would have been very expensive to ship back. Amazon made the return process very easy, arranging to have it picked up at my home by UPS. All I had to do was to go to the website to return it and Amazon took care of the rest.

Good mower, but pay attention to the manual
»
MPL are idiots; they use the bale as an e-stop instead of a "hold to run." I'm not sure how that passes muster in the safety department (if you have the mower running, it will stay running even if you manage to tip it over), but if you use it improperly (eg, hold while trying to start the mower), you can fry the control board. It's in the manual, but it's different from *every other mower on the planet*. I had to drill out the holes that you put the handle bolts through (mine only had 1/8" holes through 1 side. Somebody missed QA). Also had to superglue the "mow height" sticker on. It seemed to be attached by hope.
Other than that, the mower works, and did 1/6 ac, heavy grass w/o slowing down (my lot is 1/3rd, but half that is woods and house). It didn't cut as well as I was hoping, but that's probably because the blade was pretty dull as it came from the box, or because the housing has a 2" flat border around the bottom (which tended to bend the grass over instead of letting it pop up and get eaten by the blade). The blade is "above" the mower deck by ~3/4 of an inch.... The little chute tended to get clogged with wet grass. It didn't seem to handle (throw in the bag) pinecones as well as my gas mower.
It's not heavier than my 6.5HP gas mower, but since it doesn't have a drive system, it seems heavier going up hills. On level ground, it's OK.
All in all, a decent product with some warts in the QA department.

The mower seems to work very good but is a little heavy for my wife. Wonn't have a good chance to try it out now until spring.
